Hey all.

So I'm currently running two OC'ed Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970's. I also have a 24" 1080p 60hz refresh rate monitor. It's quite a few years old. That being said, I'm looking to purchase a new monitor. Should I do 1440p or another 1080p with a better refresh rate? Would 1440p affect my FPS heavily? Here's my predicament:

I currently have my Wii U and PC hooked up to this single monitor via an HDMI splitter. Do 1440p monitors use HDMI or is it their own format? I guess I could always just keep this monitor and use it as a 'TV' for my consoles. I guess I just don't know where to go from here.

All I know is that I want a better monitor for my GPU setup. Any suggestions?

I would suggest a 27 inch 1440p monitor. I have a Dell 2711 which runs on 60hz and I love it. With 970 SLI, you can turn V-sync on and have no tearing with a constant 60fps.

24" is the best size and 120hz is probally the best refresh rate because you wont tell the difference on a 24" panel , if you were to get a 27" panel then a 144hz monitor would be better

60hz hdmi

75hz hdmi

120hz hdmi

144hz hdmi

though i dont know the effect on your frames

Is the difference really not that noticeable between 120 or 144hz? If so, what's a good 120 hz monitor? I found a 144hz ASUS one for $279
