GTX 1080 and DX12
The GTX 1080 FTW gets 65 FPS on ashes of the singularity 1080p.... which is DX12 in 2-3 years when the 'next level of direct X' starts to become a norm. First of all the msot popular games will allow you to use lower direct x versions. But then again... The GTX 1080 gains performance when running DX12 over DX11

I already posted the benchmarks....
but if you want you can find more benches here but they are using founder edition.

GTX 1080 DX12 4k vs QHD vs FHD(1080p) Performance Comparison
When DX12 becomes the norm the GTX1080 will apparently gain performance from it...
This means: He will easily run "Next level DIRECTX"
but 144hz QHD and 4K ? Why... It is unlikely he will even reach 120 Frames at those resolutions with max settings. Yes 1080p will future proof your rig. My previous rig Had a GTX460m I could only play the newest games at 720p ....
I am pretty sure resolution is the most taxing setting for your Graphics card... 1080p still looks Awesome to me, the prices are lower, and you can get all the nice features. All while having a screen that still looks great. When all the games start becoming 4K and QHD enabled. well the benchmarks can speak for themselves.

4K

QHD

1080p

Look at that huge difference 139 Frames in 1080p 46.6 Frames in 4k!

Futureproof?
Yes 1080p will allow him to stay above 100 frames even in 2 years. likely will have to lower the graphics a little
But the other Resolutions, will likely run at around 60 frames or less with graphics settings lowered a bit.

So why QHd or 4K?
So why would he want a costly QHD or 4k 144Hz screen? (unless he is ok with changing graphics card ever 2 years)
A 1080p screen costs less and he can actually take advantage of the 144Hz for a longer time. The GTX1080 struggles at 4K to maintain 60frames already. In 1-2 years it will likely struggle to maintain 60 frames at QHD. But 1080p will likely stay around 100.
Plus the money he saves from not getting such high Resolutions can allow him to get nice features on his monitor like the eye tracking on the predator. As well as the several overlays it includes and the ability to save setting for different games using the screen's game profiles. He can even get a curved screen. A curved screen at QHD with G-sync 144hz 1ms is easily more than double the cost.

EDIT
I will no longer reply until the OP replies...

If you solved the problem yourself can you please post how you did it?

Actually, you obviously didn't read my original post. I originally said this was for my 27" one.

Wow you are pretty dumb. Not going to waste my time on you any more. You said :"Pc Part Picker does not have the latest models". I said, "yes they do, for my 27" I gave the model # for". So make sure you define 24" next time that they don't have the latest models listed for. :ange:.

This isn't what the thread is about quit hijacking....

The original comment you replied to was me saying Pc part picker doesn't feature the latest models of the predator. Which is why I did not use it.

And it does not, there are 11 total available at this time. With only 3 on Pc Part Picker.

Your claim that you were only speaking about the latest model of the 27" is invalid. Because of the entire context of my posts to which you replied. Also that isn't the latest 27" at that resolution....

Go to sleep.

FFS...
and I quote you "So make sure you define 24" next time that they don't have the latest models listed for. "

Just look at the amount of times 1080p and 24" is mentioned.

OK.....
I don't care about 'this monitor' or 'that monitor'

I DO care, as a Moderator, about all the mud flinging in here.
This will go one of two ways.
Either kiss and make up, or multiple somebodies are gonna take a little vacation.

Capice?

Again KID, you don't seem to understand. You stated "also pc part picker does not have the latest Predator models on their list.... Or I would have used it. If newegg is such a hassle he can easily use the model numbers and shop around.".

I then stated "PCPARTPICKER does have the latest models that I have been looking at. Acer XB271HU IPS". I brought up one example out of many of the latest models.

Your post you said above is INCORRECT AND INVALID. As they DO have the latest models as I have been using it every day to watch for certain models. I gave an example for proof. I don't have to say it was a 24" or 27". I just gave an example of the latest models period.

So like I said, GROW UP and stop causing trouble. You are very new here and have a lot to learn. Suggest you go read the rules.

Did you read what he said? He was not saying you were right. He was not saying I was right. He said to apologize and stop. Our discussion doesn't matter it's not even on topic. Which is why I asked you in PM to delete your spam...

so now I'm sorry, can we please just stop.
