So I just ordered aoc 144 hz monitor for ps5 but I just remember I don't think console will have displayport. Will HDMI 2.0 support 1440p at 144hz? Thanks for any help.

Solution
That depends.
If the monitor supports 1440p/144Hz over HDMI (meaning a 2.0 implementation at minimum), then you should be fine, although may make some colour tradeoffs to get the 144HZ. 2.0 only has the bandwitch for ~100Hz @ 1440p, IIRC, without sacrifice.

If the monitor required DisplayPort, I'd suspect "active" HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort adapters exist, or will.... but I'm not sure.
The PS5 will have HDMI 2.1, more than adequate for 4K @ 120Hz, so the bandwidth will be there.
1440p/144Hz, it's going to be in the implementation.

Using HDMI 2.0 (or older) is still going to have the same limitations in terms of colour or max refresh rate.

I'm not sure if it's going to be possible to 'adapt' from HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort via use of adapters though.

It's probably a little early to be purchasing a monitor to pair with a PS5, given we're 6+ months out from launch though.... Probably better off waiting until the picture is clearer.

So If i kept the monitor and ran it with my ps5 would I be able to display 1440p at 144hz? I just sold my old monitor and don't know if I can wait for ps5 release. Lol. Super bored atm

My aoc cq32g1 has displayport and HDMI 2.0. I also found displayport to HDMI converters. You think that will work?
