Hey everyone,
I will be building a pc soon and I will be using a Sapphire R9 270X as GPU.
I don't really know what monitor I should get or what monitor specs does the card require.
Anyways what monitor specs do you recommend that will not be overkilled by the card? Or that will give me a good display? (What resolution, frequency, size etc...)

Thanks

Depends on what you use a PC for, really. :)

If you play games:
A) 1080p at 120hz-144hz (20"-27" screen size) is great for that, since its speedy and has an acceptable clarity and viewing distance. Look for TN panels as they will have higher refresh rates. The only downside is color accuracy is not amazing, and viewing angles are generally poor.

If you plan to do photography / workstation / movies:
B) 1440p at 60hz (20-34" screen size) would be perfect for that. Look for an IPS panel as they have awesome color accuracy and beautiful clarity. The only downside is they are slower than TN panels and are generally more expensive.

If you want multi-monitors, I would stick to 1080p no matter what you use it for. Any surround setup of...

For most people, the deciding factor is their budget! :D

Thank you very much for your detailed answer :)
I will be using the PC for gaming, and my budget is low, so i am not searching expensive monitors.
The cheapest monitor I could get is the asus VS197DE for 73€ (In portugal), do you think it will work fine?

Low budget is understandable. If you are buying brand-new. - I would try to find a used 1080p monitor in your case. The higher resolution (and screen size, as 18" is not that big these days) would make a bigger impact on your experience, rather than a brand new monitor of that specifications. - What I'm trying to say, is that a Used 1920x1080p monitor would be a better choice than a New 1366X768p monitor.

Its that big of a difference!

I totally agree with you :)
I have found a Samsung S22D300HY in Allshop-online for 92€ (It's a Portuguese-Spanish shop for Stuff like that).
It's brand new, 1920x1080p, It has a TN Panel, 120Hz and a size of 22.
I will be building my pc ln christmas so there will probably be a lower price for it :)
Is it good enough?

That's a nice monitor. Samsung Product page is right here.

I just want you to know that, its not labeled as 120hz, from what I can tell. It may not support that high of a refresh rate. Also, its labeled as 21.5" but its close enough to 22" :D

There isn't much point of a 120Hz if your gpu is R9 270. You would need to output at least 120fps to fully utilise the 120Hz else it will be like a 60Hertz monitor then.
And Samsung S22D300HY should be a 60Hertz monitor.

Anyways thank you very much Xivilain and Suztera :)
All my questions were answered with a lot of details and arguments :)
I will search for a monitor with 1080p and 22+ inches. And 60hz will be fine.
Again thanks ;)
