I have a Dell Inspiron - 3847. it has a
Intel Pentium G3240 / 3.1 GHz dual core
chipset is : Intel H81 Express
and for graphics all it says is " Intel HD Graphics"

I need to know what is best monitor to get for it. Can i get a 23" monitor 1080p?

My concern is that it might not fully fill the screen or have alot of wasted monitor.

would i be better off getting 720 (max) monitor?

if someone knows what i am meaning, please help me out.
Thanks

Hello,

the Intel HD gpu is included in the cpu. It should run just fine with 1080p applications, i guess you must be able to watch 1080p videos, too.

The size in inches doesn't matter here.

yea, not intended for gaming., most concerned that the dispaly will not be the wide screen look and have the black borders on top and bottom.
so this graphics does support HD 1080p?

As I answered on your private message here for everyone facing this question:

if the monitor is 1920px times 1080px, then it should work. Basically every card detects the connected monitor and automatically selects the best resolution (which usually is the full resolution of the monitor).

There might be a so called 'underscaling', this is configurable and is not activated by default on intel graphics cards.
