Monitor for video editing (does resolution matter)

I cant realy find an awnser online for this...

I saw one guy on youtube using 1920 x 1200 monitors and he stated that you can fit a lot of thing on them...

since then I am bothered with this thought: will some unique resolutions improve or make it easier to work with video editing software... or the plain high inch 1920 x 1080 is the best option through and through?

can anyone share their thoughts as well as share an expirience point of view (if there are any)....

I like 1920 x 1200.
The shape is more square, and you can fit a bit more detail on the monitor.
1920 x 1200 is not made so much any more. The standard TV 1080P(1920 x 1080) panels are cheaper due to higher volume production.

For desktop work, consider using two 1080P monitors, or even 2560 x 1440 monitors.
