What does monitor gamma do, I like it extremely high is there anything bad for your eyes when using it

When it says 2.2 is it talking about the setting in nvidia control panel?

Is gamma bad for the eyes?

The gamma value is standard regardless of WHERE it is being configured from.

If you are using Nvidia control panel, THIS is the recommended method for calibrating your display. At least, without having high end calibration equipment. This will get you a good basic calibration.

Not trying to tweak I just mainly want to know if having it maxed out is bad for my eyes

Having it maxed out is probably not GREAT for your eyes, because it makes the picture worse and harder to see, less defined, and washed out or too dark depending on which direction you go, and obviously image quality will tend to suck without correct gamma as things will not look the way they are supposed to in the majority of situations but it's not like it's a blue light question so as far as your eyes go, no, it probably has very little to do with causing any kind of damage to your eyes although a GOOD image quality is ALWAYS easier on the eyes.

First off I want to say thank you for your help.

Default is 1.0 but goes to 2.8. I actually like it at 2.8 cause it seems brighter I don't know if thats weird. What would you say a good level would be that isn't to strong on the eyes but still giving me a positive image cause I do like it
