I recently built a new machine with a GTX 1080 in it. Currently I have two monitors, an Asus VX248 and a Samsung S22F350. Both 60hz refresh rate and set at 1080p resolution. I use the Asus as my main monitor and my Samsung as my secondary. While playing games on the Asus, I'll notice weird artifacting in specific areas/settings of games set to max, usually on the lower half of the screen, it will sort of "fuzz" out like a bad signal (not tearing, vsync is set). I have HDMI-HDMI to my Asus and DVI-HDMI to my Samsung.
Here's my troubleshooting thus far:
- Swapped cabling, DVI-HDMI to Asus, HDMI-HDMI to Samsung, same result
- Tried the second HDMI port on Asus, same result.
- Turned off extended desktop and ran the game on my Samsung, could not reproduce artifacting issue
- Reseated GPU
- Recorded gameplay using Shadowplay, the artifacting did not appear in the video
- Lowered settings, could not reproduce artifacting
I'm not sure what else to try, but the above has led me to believe it may be the Asus monitor itself. I namely noticed this in PUBG but will look for it in other games. It mostly occurs usually in grassy areas when I aim down about 20-30 degrees.
The following is cell phone capture of said artifacting since i could not produce artifacting in recordings. watch from the bottom of the screen up towards the middle of the screen, it will go in and out. You can mostly see this when looking at the map in the lower right hand corner. You can see it throughout the whole video on and off, but at 50 seconds you can definitely see the black flashes towards bottom of the screen (this is not because of phone capture), and around 57 seconds you can see that i produced it consistently (watch the map go fuzzy).

Obviously this is more pronounced in person than in a cruddy cell phone video, but it's the only way I could show it. It's quite bothersome. I will test with other games.
Can I please get some assistance? An answer or more troubleshooting advice? Much appreciated!
