Monitor goes black for a few seconds

My monitor keeps at random times going black for a couple of seconds, often they can occur right after each other. But it only seems to be doing this while I'm playing games. Everything is updated and it happened before I swapped to a gtx770 a year ago. Doesn't look like the monitor loses the signal, cause the the screen doesnt go blue as it does when I unplugg the HDMI. Since it jsut happens when I play games it doesn't make sense that there are something wrong with the monitor?
Also when it goes black and comes back there are horizontal lines, maybe just a pixel high, of what I can just describe as "noise". They are really small, and very hard to see, but they are there.

It sounds like it's the hdmi cable, Have you tried changing the cable?

Yes, several times. Also, it works fine as a second monitor for the laptop, but haven't played any games like this, cause its an ultrabook.

You should try uninstalling the gpu driver then download and install an new driver.

Rolled it back, installed everything again and optimized. Has so far gone black one time while watching series. So guessing I will buy a new monitor after xmas
