Hello there 😀
I've spent the entire weekend trying to find a graphics card with a low profile bracket and finally!!! succeeded today. Being not much of a techie, I was super proud of myself when I managed to switch the bracket over to the low profile ones, and install the card into the tower.
However, when I plug my monitor into the new slot, the computer runs fine (i assume) but the monitor goes into power saving mode. This is reeeally frustrating after everything! xD
The computer has on-board graphics. I did disable the on-board card from my computer, but someone mentioned I should switch it via the BIOS? but said that i can screw it up, so i should be careful.
I thought perhaps I needed to install the drivers before the card, but the monitor goes to power save mode even if i plug it into the original slot, while the new card is in the tower.
My monitor is about 6 years old, but i'm fairly sure it's handled more than this before. Computer itself is just a year old. 😀
Any help would be amazing. 😀
The card I am upgrading to is Nvidia GeForce GT 610 1gb. (low profile)
