Monitor goes to standby

I recently "refurbished" an incredibly old computer salvaged from 2 original. I know both motherboards work i am getting power from everything (HDD,fan CPU and so on) however when i plug in my monitor to my PC it goes straight from a green light to orange ive tried everything even different monitors. both are CRT plz help

Computer issue, not a monitor issue. Try a different video card or motherboard.
