Just bought a brand new HP pc desktop (WINXP PRO)with a flat screen monitor.
Barely a month old. Problem: The monitor will go blank (white) at various
times. Online or not. The only way to fix is force a reboot. Sometimes it
happens within minutes of each other or not for a day or so. What could it
be. The motherboard????

Help. TMB867

Try and eliminate the obvious things first.

Step one - check all hardware connections. Make sure they are secure.
Step two - hook into a different monitor
Step three - hook your monitor into a different computer
Step four - download and install the latest video card driver.
Step five - change video resolutions and refresh rates..

Post results here.

The good part is that if you do all of this and still have trouble - the
machine is still new enough it seems to call in the warranty service!
