Basically what the tittle says.
Even when i power on my computer for an hour, then turn everything off, my main monitor still has a "light" going on. I basically see a black screen, that is lighted up, and the only solution to this so far, is to unplug the power cord. After i take the power cord out, the "light" kinda fades away slowly withing 3 minutes to completely dark.

Should i be worried about this? is this some kind of defect? someone with knowledge that can explain?

Solution
Might be a flaw in it. Here's the same prob that other people are seeing with the same monitor

One of the replies say

BenQ confirmed this is a humidity issue and there is nothing the user can do to fix it without voiding your warranty. RMA is the only option.

What type of monitor is it? It sounds like the backlight LEDs are not recognizing the "off" trigger, so there may be an internal disconnect somewhere.

Did you just get the monitor? Or have you had it for a while, and this is something new that is happening?

It's definitely not normal by any stretch, for any brand.

The monitor is a year old and has been doing this for some months now. It's the XL2430T .
Yeah i don't really know what's going on either, also another note is that, if i look at a black picture when the screen is on, it's pretty "black" but when i turn the monitor off, the same "light" thing happens.
