I'm looking to buy 2 LCDs for my new computer. I want a 19 or a 20 inch screen but I dont know if i want wide screen or not. I'm going to be using them for lots of games and movies. I play a lot of FPS games. So a few questions: Is HD only avalible in wide screen or is it better in wide screen? Is wide screen good for gaming or will it stretch the picture and lose quality? What do I look for in an LCD? Lastly does anyone have any sugestions to what I should buy? I guess they don't have to be a monitor they could be TVs if that would give better picture or HD or something.

All LCD monitors are pretty much the equivalent to 1080P or better. HD is HD whether it be in regular or widescreen, it'll fit the monitor either way. Not all games support widescreen, either it does and the game will fit to the resolution (or you change it yourself), or it doesn't and it'll distort because you're not running in the native resolution. In LCD monitors you're looking for response time in MS, contrast ratio (which usually is a crock of sh*t), size, and whether it is DVI or VGA.

If you buy TVs to game on, I'll e-smack you!

OK, for pure gaming/great price @ 19", I wholly endorse the Viewsonic vx922. I currently run those in a dual setup, and it's so nice.

Now if you like to watch movies or look at your monitors from extreme angles (I guess if you're a pot head or something) the blacks aren't superb and the viewing angles aren't the greatest. But, gaming on them is a blast and I notice no ghosting. For me, they are great, I watch movies on them every now and then and game a lot, do schoolwork, etc., it is fine to me, esp for the price.

Tom's did a review on LCD monitors earlier, just search their database, that should help you.
