Hi, I currently use two 21.5" monitors. This is the model I've been using for ~7 years now: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-S220HQL...0&s=gateway&sprefix=acer+21.5+,aps,156&sr=8-7

However, one of them is dying & I need to replace it.

My question is, should I just get another one or is there anything better for say max $125? If yes, I would just buy 2 new monitors.

I saw this one for about the same price.: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-SB220Q-...0&s=gateway&sprefix=acer+21.5+,aps,156&sr=8-2

Is it any better? Or is there anything else you can recommend that will be an improvement?

Thanks

The newer monitor has a higher refresh rate, thinner bezzels, newer connections, and will likely look better with better colors, viewing angles, and better backlight setup. I wouldnt buy the older model. It also supports freesync.

My video card has an HDMI port & 2 DVI ports. The HDMI port is connected to my TV. I use the two DVI ports to connect to my 2 current monitors.
I noticed the new monitors have HDMI ports but no DVI ports.

Will I still be able to use the new monitors? If yes, what will I need to use them?

Thanks

Do you have a Display port? What is your exact video card model? I use DVI dual link for my 60hz 1080p panel. DVI dual link is old and can only support a max resolution of 2560 x 1600 @ 60hz and DVI single link supports 1,920x1,200 @60hz. Because of this limitation, mos monitors, even ones that don't exceed DVI standards, don't use DVI anymore. My BenQ GW2270 is an exception, supporting only DVI and VGA even though it is full HD and was bought mid-2018.

This is the video card I have: https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Graphics-Card/GV-N960WF2OC-2GD#ov

The monitor is 1080p @ 75 Hz, would a DVI male to HDMI male cable work?
If it doesn't work or there is a better way, what do you suggest?

Thanks

Alright, so if I get a displayport to hdmi cable instead, the cable will be futureproof.
Just wondering, other than that, are there any advantages to displayport to hdmi cable vs dual link dvi to hdmi cable?
For example will the colors / overall performance improve or does one allow for freesync (in case i upgrade gpu) & not the other?

Thanks

Only display port and hdmi support freesync, but dvi is simmilar to display port so all should work. Your 960 doesnt support freesync so i wouldnt worry about it. I dont know any other advantages to display port or hdmi other than dvi lacking support for higher resolution. Hdmi 1.4 supports 4k 30hz but hdmi 2 supports 60hz 4k. Display port 1.2 supports 60hz 4k, something dvi cant do.
