Monitor (HYUNDAI H91W) going black - SOLUTION

My hyundai H91W kept going black after a few seconds. I thought it was a capacitor problem until I switched the display input back to digital (it has a DVI input)

I think my visitor (I recently had a friend to stay) must have pressed the AUTO button (which resets the settings) instead of the power button, making the monitor only recognise an analogue input.

Setting the input to digitial and the refresh rate to 75hz fixed the problem.

Auto does not reset the settings (there is an actual reset to factory defaults option in the monitor controls), it configures the display to whatever input it sees to what it thinks the best settings are.

If one input works and not the the other it could be a bad or loose cable or a bad input. You're better off using the DVI connection anyway, it's a cleaner signal than the VGA.
