Monitor isn't recognized

I have an EVGA superclocked gtx 970, my main monitor was an Asus VS248H-P connected through HDMI. Today I hooked up an Acer V226HQL via DVI and my PC recognized it as the only monitor connected. I've tried virtually everything, but my PC won't recognize that my Asus monitor exists. Even when I disconnect the Acer, nothing will show on the Asus.

have you uninstalled the video drivers and reinstalled them? does anything show on the monitor in BIOS?
