Monitor keeps going to standby/ sleep when inactive

I have windows 8.1 pro 64bit
Pentium i7 2600K CPU clocked @ 3.4Ghz
ASUS ROG MAXIMUS IV GENE-Z/GEN3 Mobo
Nvidia Geforce GTX 580 G card
16 Gigs of matched Corsair 1600XMP RAM
512 Gb Samsung 850pro SSD (OS)
Corsair CMPSU-850AX Power Supply

My problem is I have my system set to high performance and display and system set to "never" turn off, yet if my system is idle for more than 10 minutes my monitor will go into sleep/standby. Is there any possible driver or software that could be overriding my settings in my OS?
