so i got a second monitor today, its an acer 24 inch S240HL, and so i have 2 of those, my gpu is a gtx 770 4gb, it works all well but the color is off, they are the same moniotrs but on is connected via hdmi and the other is a vga to dvi adapted(so it goes from my dvi port in the gpu adapted to vga and vga goes into monitor), the problem is that the one connected via hdmi looks like its been tinted with piss (the white colors are totally off on the yellow side), and the vga one looks pure white, other then that the colors on the vga one look more like they are supposed to eg, the ribon on this site on the hdmi monitor almost looks orange.

-im sorry this is a bad explanation i dont really know what to say, iv been playing around with verious settings in the nvidia controllers, windows 10 controllers and the moniotrs settings, they are all the same

I see, well like I said, it's very hard to answer this question if you have never experienced accurate colors.

One time during a movie night I had people over to watch a movie on my projector. They said that the skin tones look too warm, and overall a warm image.

However, the next day they called me and asked me if I could fix their TV's, because they realised that everything was too blue, basically moonlight if you will.

If you want the two to match, you should try a calibration tool. But, sometimes you're unlucky and they won't match, due to different batches and different version # if there are any, and of course not all are manufactured to the same exact standard.

All the best!
This is difficult to answer because for those that aren't used to accurate colors, white looks yellow for a while, or orange.

VGA is definitely a problem however, the image won't be as good as a fully digital signal, so get 2 digital connections not just 1.

The best thing you can do right now, is reset both to default, then change the picture preset to Cinema/Theater/Movie, whichever the monitor you use call it, and see if the problem goes away.

That picture preset is the closest to accurate on displays, because it's the only mode which is factory calibrated to some extent.

You will still need a calibration tool, because the room lighting, and wear and tear are two factors that you need to consider. Calibrate monthly if possible.

All the best!

so your saying dont use hdmi, i think i understand, because the tv thats connected as 3rd monitor is also connected via hdmi and shares the same piss stain, well ill have to buy another adapter or cable then, in any case suggestion still accepted until i buy a new cable then ill pick you as solutionm

to be clear the piss stain dont bother me, iv been using this monitor for ages i dont really care that much, im not professional :) what peas me off is that one monitor looks totally off from the other.

Go into the monitor settings for both monitors. Confirm that their color setting and color temperature are the same. Pages EN-10 and EN-11 in this manual explain.

https://www.manualowl.com/m/Acer%20Computers/S240HL/Manual/205745

Unfortunately, the manual doesn't show individual RGB controls (these usually show up with an analog VGA connection). So you will have to play with the color mode/color temp of the two monitors to try to get the colors to match.

dont worry mate, basickly nothings wrong with the cables, when you run one lead as hdmi and the other as vga, the drivers spaz out for some reason and settings get mucked up but they appear the same, in other word even tho it said for example contrast 50, it was actually appearing as 100, so all i moved was the bar from 50 to 51 and back to 50 again and it actually went back to the settings that are actually shown you see, nether the less i couldn't fully get rid of the piss stain so i ordered a dvi-d to vga and am going to run everything thru vga, since thru hdmi it looked too blue and it hurts my eyes after a few minutes of looking at it more intensively.
the adapter is coming tomorrow so i will update this post when it arrives and say if this problem has been resolved for people with similar problems :)

edit: the adapter came today, the screen still has a piss yellow tint and the other is still pure white....
