monitor loses signal when switched to 4k resolution in game

Hi guys when i switch my in game resolution to 4k my monitor loses signal.
The game is call of duty advanced warfare.
I can set my monitor to 4k out of game fine,but if i join the game with my monitor allready set to 4k res it will straight away lose signal,where as if i join the game at 1080 it works fine.
My monitor is a 4k samsung 55 inch tv.
Im running 2 nvidia 970s in sli.

Do you lose signal only in that game or just in any game? What's the model number of your TV? I kind of have the same problem as you do, except I'm the other way around, I lose signal if I set my resolution back to 1080p, so I'm pretty much stuck at 4k, not that I mind, lol. But when I lose signal like that, I turn off my TV with my remote and turn it back on, but I'm not sure if that'll work for you. Also, which cable are you using?
