Hello my computer has run well since i built it. This past 2 weeks i first noticed an issue. I play league of legends and it has run fine for many years. Recently after the champion select and when the loading screen should appear the monitor goes black and says "no signal". This is mostly the time I encounter the error, in between champ select and loading. It has happened once or twice outside of the game and once or twice in the game menus. It also happens frequently after the windows loading screen, but usually this is after the crash between the loading screen and champ select. When it loses signal in the loading screen the HDD activity light stops and I have to hard reset the computer. When it loses signal after startup and after the windows logo the activity light blinks.
Hardware
750w corsair power supply
i5 760 cpu no overclock
gtx 460 gpu no overclock
gigabyte motherboard
2x4 GB RAM
Things I've tried but did not work
Multiple GPU drivers
Different monitor
Changing GPU thermal paste- temps read normal
Different harddrive with reloading windows 7- my old hard drive was going bad
Reset bios
Thoroughly dusted PC
Ran OCCT 45 minutes no errors 80c temp
Tested the RAM with windows- no problems
tested with only 1 stick of ram
The computer will work well for a while but then in league of legends between champ select and loading screen i get the no signal on monitor and problems start occuring. After I have to reset the computer sometimes i notice my active title bar size changes.
I use 125% display through windows 7 to make text larger.
The only connection i have for graphics is through the GPU. I haven't had any signal issues when drivers are not installed. I can also access safe mode 100% of the time through the GPUs output, which makes the problem strange to me.
I have put in an old gtx 9500 gt GPU and it has worked well. I was planning to buy a new GPU but seeing as the strange behavior of this gpu i would like to further investigate.
