[SOLVED] Monitor no signal while plugged in gpu

Hi i have a gtx 1050 and i bought a cable that has vga at the end and hdmi at the other end. And when i try to plug it in my vga monitor and to the hdmi gpu my monitor says check cable. What seems to be the problem?

Have you tried connecting it to the motherboard hdmi ? And seeing if that output is working ?

Can be a faulty china made adapter or you've used the wrong one.
