I have a Samsung SyncMaster 17GLi monitor (running at 1024x768, 75Hz) and although the picture is just fine, there seems to be this strange noise coming from the monitor. Its hard to describe, but it's almost like some type of buzzing, very faint though, faint enough to be drowned out by music, but very annoying when there's no music playing. It's kinda like buzzing, but it doesnt' sound like a type of "produced" buzz, like electrical equipment might buzz for some error. It's more of an "electrical" type buzz (sorry, I'm trying my best with the description) that seems to be coming directly from within the monitor, maybe it's from the power supply in the monitor. But the noise goes away when i turn off the monitor, so I really can't figure out what the deal is with the noise. Also, this monitor has no integrated speakers or anything... the noise comes from within the monitor itself. During bootup, at lower resolutions (such as the boot screen) the buzzing is slower, i.e., it's almost like running your fingers very quickly across corrugated cardboard but times the speed by 100 (that's the 'buzzing' i'm talking about)... at lower resolutions the "buzzing" seems SLIGHTLY slower. So, any help?? Thanks much..
