Monitor not being detected right

I'm running dual monitors with my TV and my Asus vw246h monitor. Im using an hdmi for my tv and dvi for my computer monitor but when its being detected my monitor is showing up as number 2 and my tv number 1. It only bothers me when my computer is sleeping and when i go back on its only detected on my tv and I need to detect again on my screen resolution screen. With my set up I cant use the hdmi on my computer monitor so if theres any way to fix this much would be appreciated.

What do you have for a video card ?
Tere are settings in the control panel of the video card that you can change, for example if you have a Nvidia video card then in the Nvidia control panel you can chose whach monitor you want for 1 and for 2.
If you go to the power plan settings you can change the setitings for how the computer sleeps and for the monitor as well.
You can also get a DVI to HDMI cable or adapter.
