[SOLVED] Monitor not changing to 144hz

Hello, I recently built a new computer with a 144hz monitor. When I try to set the monitor to 144hz instead of 60 (either in nvidia control panel or windows settings), the monitor turns black for a bit, turns back on, and is still at 60hz. I'm using a DVI connection. Monitor is AOC G2460.

System specs:
Ryzen 5 2600 cpu
GTX 1050 Ti gpu
ASrock B450 mobo
8 gb 2400mhz corsair vengeance lpx ram

mister you need to push the buttons on the monitor to select 144hz.

also make sure to use a displayport cable.

Your cable is the culprit but, DVI-D will not support 144Hz, you need a Displayport cable, good news is they arent that expensive but till you have one you will be stuck at 60 Hz.
