Monitor not communicating with PC

Hi, I got a new motherboard (ASUS TUF B360-PLUS GAMING) and a CPU (i3 8300). I have assembled this into my PC, but the Monitor does not seem to recognise the PC being plugged into it. Everything runs, both the GPU and MB shine light, but the monitor always stays in sleep mode, as if nothing was connected. Also, the back panel of MB (USB) does not seem to be working. The case button (ON/OFF) does act normally. Where could be the problem? I also can't turn the power source switch to "0" (turn it off) if it might help

Solution
Do you have a PCIe graphics card installed?

Is the monitor cable connected to the graphics card, or the motherboard outputs? You should double check this.

Often, symptoms such as these are due to either having the monitor cable connected to the wrong output, or when a new CPU has been installed it may be due to an improper installation resulting in bent pins on the CPU.

If the monitor cable is 100% in the correct place, I would pull the CPU cooler and CPU, and check very closely to see if any pins on the CPU were bent. Also, pull the RAM/Memory and reseat it. If the memory is not 100% seated correctly you could see this problem as well.

It would be a good idea as well to make sure you connected BOTH power connectors to the...

It would be a good idea as well to make sure you connected BOTH power connectors to the motherboard. There should be an 8 pin EPS 12v connector and a 24 pin ATX connector. The smaller connector plugs into the board near the CPU, the ATX power connector connects along one of the edges of the motherboard, usually near the SATA connections.

Check everything listed here twice, just to be sure.

And if none of that results in a successful POST, then I'd suggest you need to pull the motherboard back out of the case and bench test it.
