Hi guys
So I finally finished building my new PC yesterday only to find that when I turn it on, my monitor doesn't detect it. I am using a HDMI cable and have tried connecting it to both the graphics card and the motherboard with no results. When the PC turns on, the fans come on but tend to go louder and quieter in cycles - I don't know if this is normal or not. There is also a red light that comes on from the back of the motherboard but since its at the back I can't tell what its from. What should I do now? I was going to buy a DVI cable to try that way?

Edit: I was being blind with the LED. When it boots up, the VGA LED light comes on which indicates a problem with the GPU? But then it turns off and doesn't come back on

Another edit: So am I just being a moron and my CPU doesn't have integrated graphics hence the problem?
