Question Monitor not displaying properly

Hi,
My son has a desktop pc and whenever he turns it on, the Windows 10 Login screen loads correctly, however once he enters his password nothing else happens. He’s left with just his mouse pointer. We tried using Ctrl+Alt+Del to open Task Manager but saw that nothing was running, and then Task Manager automatically closed itself after a few seconds. Could anyone present a solution to this problem?

try going into safe mode?

full system spec? include make and model of the psu
or if a prebuild exact model of this prebuild
