It's probably some dumb little mistake but I cannot get the monitor to connect to the pc. This is my first build and I finally got everything put in and was going to see if I could pull up the bios. I took a hdmi cable and put it into the graphics card and he monitor. No signal. A dvi to hdmi. No signal. Vga cable. No signal. I then took all of them and tried them in the motherboard still no signal. What could I be doing wrong. I have a Asus VN247, msi z97 gaming 5, and GeForce GTX 970.

Thank you for any help provided.

Solution
List your specs please.

Go through the link, see if you've missed anything.

If you have more than one memory stick, try one at a time in the correct dimm slot as referred in the manual.
Some monitors have driver problems and don't recognise HDMI or there are issues with the picture. For monitors I have found it best to use a DVI cable. If you are using a DVI cable and you still have problems then it is probably related to your monitor or GPU drivers. I would go to manufacturers website and download the most up to date driver.

If you are using Windows 10, there may not be working drivers yet.

That board uses the Award bios and 3 long beeps means memory problems. Dual channel uses Dimms 2 & 4 black slots.

If no change, try clearing cmos. Watch sized battery on the motherboard, simply remove that for a good 5 or more seconds (while pc is turned off) will default the bios. It may help.
