Monitor not recognizing HDMI

So i have this samsumg monitor, pretty new, and it works when i connect using VGA, but when i try HDMI from my computer to the monitor it does not recognize.

Once the PC is powered on while connected to the monitor via HDMI, if there is an "auto" button on your monitor, press that.

I have done this and still not recognizing. When i go to device manager, i can see my vga connected but i cannot see the hdmi cable.
