I installed a new Dell monitor to my computer, it is not showing proper resolution. It ideally show 1920 X 1080 resolution but it does not. It works on 1084 x 768 resolution. If I try to change the resolution the screen moves to my right and I get a black band on the left. When I first installed the monitor the 1920 resolution worked ok for a couple of days then I started to get intermittent screen blackout while the monitor power light remained steady. Please help me to get my screen resolution back

What interface type are you using? HDMI, DP, DVI, VGA? Are you using any adapters like HDMI to VGA ?

I was running 1600x1200 on CRT monitors back in the late 90s / early 2000s with VGA cables, so it's probably not that. As others have said, check the drivers, try updating them or finding alternatives.

Nothing that we haven't already suggested. You need to get the INF file loaded to tell Windows what the capabilities of the monitor.
But, my recommendation is to get an alternate interface. VGA should not be used in 2021.
