So i built a new computer a week ago. Everything was going fine until I tried to add case fans. Several hours after playing around with different case fan orientations I tried to boot my computer but my monitor wouldn't turn on. Can someone offer some help? Here's what I know:
Replugged all the power and sata cords.
I tried only 1 stick of DDR 4
Tested the graphics card on another computer and it works fine.
Tested the monitor on another computer and it works fine.
I've tried a different PCI slot for the video card.
I removed the CMIOS battery for at least 15 mins.
Earlier I had replaced the thermal compound on my CPU because I had put too much on last time but it had started up fine until I rebooted it for the 10nth time.
I've checked every cable I could think of (CPU fan, front power/usb/led, motherboard connector)
I checked to make sure that no cables could be brushing against the motherboard and shorting it but things are powering on, just no monitor.
I'm really worried that maybe I discharged myself on the motherboard my capacitors look good from what I can see.
I'm about to test the power supply because I was thinking maybe I messed it up turning it off and on so much. Or maybe I fried some components while working in a warm room with little ventilation.
I'd really appreciate some help on this. I don't know what else to try.
