So, I've got a Samsung monitor that only has a DVI port, when I connect it to the GPU (rx 480) with a 1m DVI cable everything works, but when I plug in a 3m cable the screen goes black after the windows 10 logo (I can go into BIOS with it just fine). I need a longer cable because my PC is more than 1m away from my monitor. I know that the monitor works fine, the GPU works perfectly and both cables work (tested on other minitors).
I've tried to plug in a cable that has DVI on one end (in the monitor) and an HDMI on the other end (into the GPU) and I get the same thing, display goes black after windows 10 logo.
Anyone knows what's up?

can you plug in a second monitor? its likely your system thinks you have a second screen attached and is defaulting to the other after boot.
my pc does the same. at boot time my primary screen is blank. but the secondary shows the boot sequence. 1s its over the secondary(which is my primary screen) turns on as the windows logon screen is displayed.

if this is the same for you then you will need to change the default display settings and disable the primary display. press winkey + p and select secondary screen only.

If I connect another monitor, that one boots fine, but when I go to my display settings it cannot detect that another monitor is connected.

Both the cable and the GPU port are tested and both work,
Thanks for trying to help, appreciate it :)
