Monitor not "working".

Hi all,
I have a Samsung S22E310 monitor (which I don't believe is the true problem. I say this because when I connect it to my laptop via HDMI it works fine (sort of) yet when I connect it to my tower nothing happens except it powers on, but I get no video. It's strange because I bought the monitor when I bought my Cyberpower PC, and it worked fine until I had to unplug my PC to move it to a different location in my room. When I reconnected everything the issue started. I didn't bang it, or drop it or anything, so it's highly unlikely that there's any damage. I tried a new HDMI cable, and even tried an older VGA cable, still no video. Back to the "sort of" part. When I first tried the monitor on my laptop I got the same "no video" problem. Maybe it's coincidence, but when it happened I just unplugged the monitor from it's power source and reconnected it. Strangely, and suddenly I got video and I've been using it with my laptop ever since. However, once in a while when the laptop goes to sleep and I wake it up, I get no video again...until I unplug and plug it back in, and it starts working again. This happened a few months ago, but the strange thing is after using it with my laptop for a week or so I decided to connect it to my pc just for the hell of it, and oddly it suddenly worked again, and I didn't have any problems again until recently when I had to move the pc. PLEASE, let me know if any other details are needed, as I may have unknowingly left something out lol, I'm not totally ignorant to pc's, but I'm by no means an expert either :/ Any suggestions are appreciated and welcomed.
Thank you in advance
