Monitor Odd Distortion

Solution
LCD panels employ a bunch of different light guides and diffuser sheets to evenly spread the light from the LEDs (a few point sources along the edges) across the entire surface of the display.

Your pics look like the edges of some of these sheets are becoming delaminated (the glue failed and the sheets are separating). Nothing you can do about it, as repairing it would likely cost more than a new monitor. Keep using the monitor until it becomes too annoying, then replace the monitor.

Edit: It could also be a little water has gotten in between the diffuser sheets. In which case it should gradually dry up over time.

Hmmm... that sounds like a possibility. It is under warranty, I assume Dell will replace if it gets too bad. I guess I have a year to decide.

Funny, I get Dell Support on the phone and the effect is almost gone, I could literally watch the pixels in the lighter spot and along the edge "revive" and become less light... I noticed it Saturday when gaming and now again today, not sure if it is something slowly failing or fixing itself from something like moisture.

Again, I guess I don't have to use the warranty yet, so maybe it's just a wait and see for now.
