Monitor only goes up to 120hz not 144hz.

I have a Acer Xf240h and ive had this for 2 months so far and i haven't found a solution yet for y i cant get 144hz. I have a I5 6500 ,MSI z170m mortar, MSI gtx 1060 oc, Rosewill 500w. Plz help

You're probably using an HDMI 1.4a cable.
Maxes out at 1080p 120hz.

You need to switch to a DP or HDMI 2.0

I agree, use the cables that came with the monitor. They should either be display port or a dual link dvi.

I actually tried all 3 cables. HDMI gives me 1080p 60hz, DVI 120hz 1080p, and the DP gives me 60hz.

Use the DP cable.
Hit start and type display settings, hit enter
click advanced display settings
click display adapter properties
go to the monitor tab
switch it to 144hz

Man that was more steps than i was expecting
