Putting together a new system.

ECS K7S5A
AMD1.4GHz
256MB DDR
other stuff!

Here is the dilema. Do I get a monitor with a .27mm dot pitch and a GeForce 2MX 400 32MB or ATI Raedon 32MB DDR OR a monitor with .26mm dot pitch and a TNT2 32MB M64 vid card? Both moniotrs from the same manufacturer, both 17". Resolution likely to be 1024x768 16bit color.

Diablo 2 gaming wise, Adobe Photoshop 6 but mostly surfing and office apps.

TIA
Rod

whatever u do, don't get a tnt2 M64, those thing are really old and slow..it's the cheap version of the TNT2...

I'm not sure a .01 mm will be that big of a diff. get a optiquest Q75..really good and cheap

If anything get a slower CPU and spend money on both the monitor and the GPU.

The difference between .27 and .26 got pitch is hardly noticable in practice.

Go with the .27 inch, maybe 1.2 Ghz processor, and pick up a GeForce 2 Pro 64MB.

I think I'd step it down to a Athy 1.2 (They overclock pretty well to help make up some of the difference and will save some $$) and go with the GeForce2 GTS or Pro. If you have to cut, the monitor compromise isn't too bad. you want SMOOTH rendering if you are gaming. MUCH more important than focus if you are wantin' the frags!
