Question Monitor outputs sound from its speakers when headphones are plugged into it

I have an mx25aq ASUS monitor, that I use for my PC.
I connected a PS3 to it, and when I plug in the headphones to the monitor's headphone jack, the music can also be heard from the monitor speakers.
Kind of defeating the purpose of the headphones.

Is there any way to make it understand I am using headphones and isolate the sound to them only?

I have done both, the headphones are fine. They work perfectly on other devices, my tablet, my ipod..
I have also tried other headphones, and that didn't fix the issue.

Download ASUS supreme fx and go to settigns. Set "Mute the rear output device, when a front headphone plugged in".

I just turned off the PC and it was fixed.
Now when I plug in earphones, the sound stops coming out of the internal speakers of the monitor.
I guess the monitor got confused when both the PC and the PS3 were connected!
