[SOLVED] Monitor overclocked to 74Hz but Metro Last light has around 80fps. Is it possible?

I thought that I cannot go over 74hz mark or is it still capped at 74Hz and fraps is just showing my actual game fps?

the display can show 74hz, which is like FPS as they are measured in seconds, the GPU is producing 80 FPS. the GPU is rendering 6 extra frames per second. this looks ideal to me
