I would like to know if it is possible to overclock my monitor past 60hz with HDMI. I am running my display at 1440x900 60hz. If it is possible i would like to know how because all the tutorials i have seen only cover DVI-D dual link/DisplayPort.

Thanks for the input!

I think you can try approaching 75Hz with an HDMI cable, but I wouldn't try anything higher than that. DVI and DP cables allocate more video bandwidth, HDMI utilizes this for other functions.

That also depends on the panel, controller and your luck, I had a panel before via DVI that I could only go to 65Hz, but an old VGA one did 75Hz without issues...

When I turned on my PC it said mode not supported. That is a problem because now I can't see how to revert it. Do you have any ideas?

do you have another HDMI video output from your PC?
Did it work fine until after you turned your pc off and then back on?

usually, when you are Overclocking a screen, it either works or doesn't work. if it doesn't work, just leave it and windows will turn back the settings after a few seconds.

I got it to work afterwards. For some reason it worked until I restarted my computer. It said "mode not supported". I had to boot it in safe mode with another monitor but I got it to work afterwards!
