Since the instalation of one of the drivers for my 8500 on Windows XP (Was using 2K and the old 2K drivers before I upgraded), my monitor will not power off after the power save time I alot to it. Anyone know if this is a Driver issue, Windows XP issue, or just a strange issue?

I don't need an anti-virus program, I just boil my computer once a week.

do you have a screen saver that comes on before the monitor goes off?
if so...i think win xp shuts down the monitor after the screen saver has been enabled for a while....in other words:
lets say you set your screen saver to come on after 5 mins...the monitor off after 10 mins...i think win xp does this so the monitor turns off 10 mins AFTER the screen saver comes on...not 10 mins after you've been idle....but i dunno...i had the same "problem" and now just disabled everything and turn off the monitor myself.

No, actualy, the monitor never turns itself off.

Could be an XP issue, I'll check with MS.
