Hello, i have a problem with my monitor. I have had this monitor working for a few weeks now no problem, then suddenly today it's playing up. For some reason it becomes 'unrecognised' which is the best way to describe it.

The problem i am having is that it randomly changes resolution, it gets recognised and is set the correct resolution, then randomly i get the message 'not optimum mode recommended mode 2048x1152', i go to change it and instead of the monitor being called syncmaster it's either called generic non pcp or some 'display device on: VGA'. There is also an annoying sound played, which sounds just like when you plug in or take out a USB device.

The monitor i am using is SyncMaster 2343NW,SyncMaster Magic CX2343NW(copied from the device manager). The weird thing is that in device manager the name of the monitor is always correct but not always correct on screen resolution page.

I tried re-installing my graphics card drivers and that hasn't worked. My graphics card is a geforce 315, it's been running resolution at 2048x1152 with no problem, but now all of a sudden the monitor is messed up.

*edit*
I have managed to update the monitor drivers, but i did this earlier. For some reason it keeps resetting and i have to install them again. Is there any way to fix this.

Thx for the reply brett, but i don't have another pc to test it. I have just downloaded a driver from some site, a INF file generated by Monitor Asset Manager. The message stops coming up now, and my resolution doesn't change, also when i go to change resolution manually, it correctly displays which monitor i am using.

Problem is that the file has it's resolution but it's not the resolution i want it to be,i want it to be 2048x1152, because atm, things are a bit blurry. How can i create my own? or is there anyone willing to create one because i'm not very good at all with this kind of stuff.
