Monitor problem

I recently bought a Samsung HDTV monitor, I have a 5970 and use the HDMI cables to hook it up. However it cannot auto detect and resize the screen. Due to this the text looks kinda grainy and in games stuff is not as crisp as before with my 24 inch with the same resolution. Any ideas? Would using no converters and just DVI to DVI help? as that is the hookup that is recognized as the PC by this monitor.

If it was sold as an HDTV instead of as a computer monitor, I'd be a little surprised if it even had a DVI connection. Anyway, you probably need to adjust the under/over scan in Catalyst Control Center.

I'll try that, yeah it was sold as a hdtv monitor and the dvi is the default pc connection. Using this dvi and dvi only you can use tje auto adjust tool

i run my hdtv via a dvi->hdmi plug. if the tv is 1920x1080 make sure your desktop resolution is set to such or you will have issues. that said, the pixels are arranged on televisions more for shapes so text will not look as crisp as on a computer monitor in any situation. this is the one downside to using a hdtv as your screen.
