Hello, i created this thread to get feedback on what would be the optimal option to choose from. Im coming from a 1080p acer 60hz monitor to 1 of the folowing.

Benqxl2024g or the freesync counterpart for 8bit 1080p gaming

Or the Pg279q/mg279q for 1440p ips gaming.

Ultimately is the Benqs 8bit tn panel a bad choice over a good ips like the pg279q or mg279q? And should i get 1440p over 1080p with freesync or gsync.

System:
Windows 7
120gb kingston SSD
1TB Western Digital HD
16gb g skill sniper
Asus v formula motherboard
AMD 9590 processor
MSI GTX 970 GPU (can sell for R9 390)
Rosewill 1000watt powersupply

8bit TN vs IPS
1080p vs 1440p (144hz)
GSYNC VS FREESYNC
GTX 970 or R9 390

Solution
As far as I know, the colors with a TN panel change depending on the angle so if you move your head while looking at it then you can see the contrast difference which personally, I can't tell much of a difference unless I'm looking for it or have a side by side comparison where I'm moving around (who walks around while they are gaming anyway) so I'll take a cheaper price tag.

As for the 1080p vs 1440p you can honestly get away with either. I've heard that 1440p is sort of the sweet spot for gaming and would probably work pretty well with the r9 390, but I'll tell you that 1080p is still a great resolution. I'm using this monitor...

I believe Freesync is for amd and Gsync is for Nvidia. I'm thinking you should probably go with the R9 390 and get a Freesync monitor. I have yet to experience Freesync or Gsync, but I will tell you that switching from 60hz to 144hz is amazing. It's a world of difference.
Plus with the R9 390 you might not even experience screen tearing, but I don't know.

Ty for the reply! I am leaning more to the 390 for obvious future proofing reasons with the 8gb of vram. What about 1080p or 1440p should i choose 1440p and in a few years upgrade the gpu again? Or should i stick with 1080p and max everything. In doing so how would a 8bit TN panel compare to an IPS panel?

I'm using this monitor: http://www.amazon.com/VG248QE-1920x1080-DisplayPort-Ergonomic-Back-lit/dp/B00B2HH7G0/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1449088049&sr=1-1&keywords=ASUS+VG248QE
I made the switch from a Samsung monitor (also TN panel) because I wanted the extra Hz and and quicker response time and I think it was a wonderful decision. If there is screen tearing I can't even tell and I don't have Gsync.

I'm probably a little off topic, but based on your choices, I would get the R9 390 and the Asus mg279q monitor. I hope that answers at least one of your questions.
