Hello people of the interwebs. If you've seen me anywhere else on the web with a question, you will know I'm very crazy about my setups.

Instead of describing what I want to do, I'll make a textual flowchart... sort of...

Laptop - XBox --> MONITOR (yet to be determined) --> audio only stereo receiver.

One would think this is simple, but its surprisingly hard.
I will be selling my desktop and buying an Xbox and a laptop. From here my question lies...

I either want a monitor with audio out (headphone jack) or wish to know if an Xbox will have the same image quality with VGA at 1080p as HDMI at 1080p.

There is a viewsonic 24" LED monitor for $219 with 2 HDMI in and 1 VGA (with computer in) and an audio out jack as well. I like this, but for the price I could get a bigger monitor or save money for a similar set up.

The other option is to use Xbox's VGA output ability at 1080p and hook up the separate audio channel directly to my receiver. I need to know if there is ANY graphics difference with using VGA at 1080p and HDMI at 1080p.

I know I sound like a broken record, but I have some need to sound like one when asking questions like this.

And now another question!!!
Which monitor should I purchase?
Here are the links.......

ASUS 24" 1080p monitor with 1 HDMI in and 1 audio out. I would buy this one refurbished on Amazon.com.

Viewsonic 27" 1080p monitor with 1 HDMI in but NO AUDIO OUT. I would buy this one refurbished FOR SURE as I don't have that kind of money. I would use the Xbox's VGA option to avoid the integrated speakers.

Viewsonic 24" 1080p monitor with 2 HDMI in ports and 1 audio out. May as well get the ASUS just to save money.

Viewsonic 24" 1080p monitor with 1 HDMI in but NO AUDIO OUT. Would buy refurbished to save cash.

What do you think? I'm leaning towards the 24" ASUS or the 27" Viewsonic.
