My monitor quickly turns pink after I log into my computer(Right after the windows 10 login screen). It doesn't go pink when I'm in UEFI or when I haven't gone past the windows 10 login screen. I'm using a VGA cable with a DVI adapter connected to a nvidia GTX 960. When I use a different VGA cable I still have the same problem and I've tested it with another monitor. So is it likely a problem with the Graphics card or the VGA to DVI adapter?

Note: I don't have trouble distinguishing between red, green, and blue its just like the entire screen is coated in a see through pink cover.

Edit: The color dis figuration might be better described as everything being a little darker while everything white has a pinkish hue/tint to it

Solution

It certainly can be a connection issue, sometimes just reseating the plug helps

Download the newest driver from the nvidia website, select "custom install" and then "clean install" is a checkbox. You can also uncheck things you don't use like 3d vision drivers and geforce experience.

Idk what to say, it didnt require me to restart. I should also point out that during the re-installation when everything is first uninstalled, the pink hue disappears but when it begins installing everything again, the pink hue reappears. So I'm guessing its a driver problem, should I attempt an installation of a previous version of the driver?

Edit: So should I attempt to install an older driver just to see if the issue is with the current driver or the physical graphics card.

362.51 should work, but you might need to uninstall first from the device manager, restart, then install again

Make sure you're using the custom install->clean install options

Yeah... It didn't work. Did a clean uninstall, restart, and install of the 362.00 version and still the pink hue. I'm going to test it with another VGA-DVI adapter I have tomorrow, if that doesn't work then its a graphics card issue.

Here's hoping that it actually is a cable issue and not a graphics card issue, I've already had too many computer issues these past few days

Turns out that my cousin had installed a program that adjusted the light based on the time of day, except I often have the lights on in my room so it was causing an uncomfortable orange/pink glow.
