[SOLVED] Monitor randomly turns off, and desktop icons move about.

Hi all, i'm having a problem where my monitor will disconnect and i have to take out the hdmi and re-insert it for it to come back on again. When it comes back on my desktop icons are shuffled all over the place.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

What's your GPU? Most likely to be a driver issue. I had problems before exactly like yours with the first released drivers for the RX 5700 XT.

Hi, my GPU is a GTX 970, Had it for around 4 years now so not sure if it could be on its way out. Although it never happens when playing games etc.

Is the resolution staying the same? Moving desktop icons makes me think of a changing screen resolution.

Yea the resolutions stays the same, just the icons move about, also the google chrome icon on the task bar will swap with my ableton tab etc, making it where if i click ableton it will open up chrome, and if i click chrome it will open up ableton etc
