Hi all, I'm looking for a 24" monitor. I love the Dell U2410, but its very expensive. So I'm looking for a cheeper alternative that has the following features:

120hz
HD TV-tuner
HDMI, DVI and VGA port
speaker (or audio out jack)
USB ports
good reviews

Does it necessarily need to be brand new? I was able to pick up a used U2410 for around $350. Still works like a charm.

You could also try the update to the U2410, the U2412m. Neither as two HDMI ports, I believe it's one HDMI and one DVI along with DisplayPort and some other inputs.

ASUS also makes some great IPS displays. Check out their PA246Q. Their 23" version is much cheaper as well. The PA238Q.

the problem with the U2410 is that it doesn't have a speaker or audio out. so if I were to plug in an HD TV box, where do I get the sound from? I'm considering getting the BenQ XL2410T. what do you think of that one? from what I read, the only bad thing about it is they say it has restrictive viewing angles. so I'm going to have to go to a store and check it out.

Actually it does. Check our site for pictures of the back port of the U2410. There's an audio out right next to the USB.

It also has component and composite video too. The thing has a slew of options.

Also there's no built in speakers but Dell specifically made a Dell Soundbar attachment that you can purchase and add-on. I'm not sure how good it is though.

I can recommend you the Asus VW246H for CAD219.99 at NCIX. It has the speakers you want (thru HDMI).

And the connections are indeed on the bottom:
