Monitor Refresh Rate

Hi,
I want to buy a monitor ...i have my eyes on a samsung monitor ..it has a refresh rate of 5 ms ..is that good enough for gaming???and does a monitor with lesser refresh rate make any huge difference in the gameplay ???

In my experience i don't notice the difference between 1, and 6 ms refresh rates...only people who are pure hardcore gamers who need precise precision will benefit from it...you will be fine :)
 
The difference between 1ms and 5ms isn't going to stand out at you, unless they are side by side with the right thing being displayed. With 5ms, you get built in motion blur, which means things in motion are a bit blurred, but not bothersome. But if you take, say a map, and have it move across the screen, a 5ms monitor will require it to move MUCH slower to see or read the details on the map compared to a 1ms response time. One is just more clear under motion, but you won't likely pay attention to that unless you saw them side by side showing something in motion.
