Okay so I just bought a 144hz monitor (MSI Optix MAG24C), it has a 144hz refresh rate. When I open up Windows 10 settings, it says it's at 60hz?

Also what is the software I can use to change the monitor settings for the MSI OPtix MAG24c?

Thanks, Riley

This is how you change your monitor's refresh rate in Windows 10:

If you're using DisplayPort or DVI, right click your...
If you're using a HDMI cable, that may be the reason; HDMI usually doesn't support 144Hz, depending on the Monitor's resolution.
If your monitor came with a DisplayPort cable, use that. DisplayPort supports most resolutions at 144Hz.

Product Preset Modes

In DVI/DP connection mode
1920x1080
(60/120/144Hz)

When the resolutions are
2560*1440@60Hz/
3440*1440@60Hz/
1920*1080@144Hz/
2560*1440@144Hz/
3840*2160@30Hz connection via DVI port, pls choose 24+1 pin double - channel DVI cables. AKA DVI-D Dual Link cable

POWER/MENU Key: Press this key shortly to pop up Main
Menu/Confirm; hold this key to power off.

To change resolution refer to graphics provider. It depends on what you are using as a graphics solution. A PC graphics card comes with software to change resolutions.

Can't I use MSI Gaming OSD software for settings?

This is how you change your monitor's refresh rate in Windows 10:

If you're using DisplayPort or DVI, right click your desktop and click 'Display settings'.

Scroll all the way to the bottom and find the 'Advanced display settings' option.

http://

In there, you should see your monitor and what it's currently outputting. If it shows 144Hz, you're good to go, if not, click 'Display adapter properties' underneath the section of the MSI Optix MAG24C.

http://

A small window should pop up that has 3 tabs at the top, each named Adapter, Monitor and Color Management. Click 'Monitor'.

In here, there should be a drop-down menu under the subtitle: 'Refresh Rate'.

http://

Click the drop-down and select 144Hz.
(Note that 144Hz will only be available if using a physical DVI dual-link or DisplayPort connection and if you are at a resolution of 2560x1440/1440p or 1920x1080/1080p or lower, though a few lower resolutions do not support 144Hz.).

The links are images to show you what each step should bring you to.

Hope this helped.
